Chris Evans was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to a dentist father and a dancer mother. Like many stars, Chris Evans began his career in school plays and community theater, but his meteoric rise to stardom was different.
In 2011, he starred in the Superhero Movie Captain America. His breakthrough role in the film also received critical acclaim, which helped propel his career to the top. He will once again pick up the shield and star in 2012's avengers. A sequel is also in the works, due out in 2014.
Born in Boston in June 1981, Chris was 11 when his family moved to suburban Greater Sudbury to attend Lincoln Greater Sudbury Regional High School, where his talent was encouraged by his drama teacher. With experience in school plays and regional theater, he went to New York to study at the Lee Strasberg. At his friend's suggestion, he interned at a casting company and befriended several agents, and soon began auditioning for films and TV shows.
In 2000, Chris debuted on CBS's Traveler, followed by Spinster, The Newcomers and high school sweethearts. In 2001, he starred in his first on screen movie, inappropriate, the following teen comedy, "Perfect Score, " follows the first hilarious episode. Then came Chris's breakthrough as an actor in the thriller the Silver Linings Playbook, which, despite his natural flow and unpretentious performance, was neither a box office success nor much of a critical acclaim 20th Century Fox's The Fantastic Four was equally disappointing, but Chris's unrestrained performance almost stole the spotlight from the other stars. In 2007, he reprised his role as a human torch in the sequel Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and as an engineer in the Danny Boyle Sci fi film Sunshine.
