Benedict Cumberbatch, born July 19,1976 in London, England, is a British actor and producer. Benedict began his acting career in 2000 with the television series heartbeat. In 2004, he was nominated for the National Board of Review Award for Best Actor award at the Stephen Hawking and the BAFTA television awards for his role in the television film the story of Stephen Hawking. In 2010, he starred in the TV series Sherlock, which won Emmys, National Board of Review Award for Best Actor, Golden Globe and two BAFTA National Board of Review Award for Best Actor nominations. In 2011, he won the Oliver Award for best actor for his stage production of Frankenstein's body and soul, and began working on voice and Motion Capture for the The Hobbit series. In 2012, he appeared in the movies Star Trek into darkness and the TV series Parade's End. In 2013, he starred in the film 12 Years a Slave, which won the Academy Awards for Best Picture; he also founded a production company to produce his first short film, a piece of work; and that same year, he won the BAFTA's Britannia Awards and was featured on the cover of time international's October issue. In 2014, the imitation game, starring benedict, was released in North America at the end of the year, along with dubbing Penguins of Madagascar and the Hobbit: The Battle of the five armies. In addition, he was named Time Magazine's annual "most influential people in the world" list, ranked first in the artist category.
